About Lilac

Lilac hails from the world of Ophloxis, a world given form by seven dragons of legend, one of which became the land of the world. Despite her humanoid form, she is a dragon, albeit not a traditional one. In Lilac's world, dragons are creations of the fae realm, gemstones given magic and life from the earth, and are meant to be humanity's guardians. Though their natural forms are the massive winged lizards seen in storybooks, they are, no matter what form they take, nothing more than highly concentrated forms of magic given physical form - their true form is a highly tough gemstone core that contains their soul - and also the bulk of said concentrated magic. Effectively, dragons are themed after two things - gemstones and flowers - and all have floral names, often stemming from the color of their gemstone heritage.

Because of their magical value, dragons are routinely hunted down in Ophloxis and over time, they were forced into hiding, taking on more humanoid forms, though their characteristics still appear, regardless of the form they take. Despite their rarer numbers, dragons still feel deeply honorbound to protect humanity - as such, they claim territories and live quietly amongst others, doing what they can to ensure the protection of those they care for, often without humanity even knowing it.

Lilac hails from the quiet Liatris valley and has never known life outside of it. Though Liatris originally had three draconic guardians - Lilac, Hyacinth and Larkspur - it has slowly dwindled down to just Lilac, after Larkspur's untimely death and Hyacinth's departure from Liatris some years prior.

Lilac is an alchemist specializing in medicines, poisons and bombs. Also an accomplished botanist, she can often be seen venturing deep into Liatris forest for new reagents and ingredients for her alchemical creations. Though kind and warm to those she cares about, she has a prickly exterior at times, possessing a sharp tongue as well as being incredibly perceptive and highly guarded underneath her sociable veneer. In truth, Lilac has difficulty deeply trusting outsiders due to the fact many of her brethren have been slain indiscriminately - it takes time for her to warm up to some people because of this. She takes her duty as the sole guardian of Liatris seriously and feels that everyone within her territory is her responsibility to protect - even those who enter with the intent to harm her.

As a magical being, she has no need to eat or sleep, though she delights in partaking in both, and especially enjoys textures, though this means she often eats things one shouldn't. Her favorite food is copper coins, which she eats like potato chips.
